Sunshine to electric shine
2009-06-06The proposal for seeking solar energy by installation of a satellite at space instead of the orbit of the earth might take off if permission is granted to the California-based PG&E Company to contract with Solaren Company. The advantage with such a measure would be continuous 24-hour supply of solar power without hindrances from climatic conditions. The working principle is supposed to be based on the satellite having mirrors for directing sunbeams onto its photoelectric cells. The electrical energy thus obtained could then be transformed to a microwave rays which would again change back to the electrical form on reaching the earth.
