Transcription is the change of data from audio files to an electronic document or into a hard copy. Legal transcription work includes transcribing sound files of letters/memos/drafts related to legal issues, legal pleadings, hearings of the Court and Tribunals etc. Other organised functions related to legal matters such as seminars or meetings may also be transcribed into the text format. Even transcription of Insurance verification comes under legal transcription. Legal transcription can also be done from home provided one is equipped with a PC having Internet connection head phones, and a foot pedal. The job requires good typing skills, computer knowledge, sound base in English, and adequate listening skills.
